The great controversy of today’s society is to either use a bar of soap or use liquid soap. I, for one, prefer a bar of soap. Have I tried liquid soap? Yes, I have, and have thought it wasteful. I would use way too much just pouring it on my skin or on a face cloth, luffa, or sponge. As a kid growing up, we used bar soap. I still enjoy using the bar. And all of my brothers and sisters used the same bar as we did not know any different back then.
There are people out there who think liquid soap is the greatest thing going. One such persons that I know, says that she will only use liquid soap as she has a large family and the thought of her using a bar that was touched by someone else is very repulsive to her.
Soap, liquid or bar, is used as a cleaning agent for our bodies. Germs don’t stick around on a bar any more than they do on the bottle of liquid soap. Why create another item plastic item to put into our landfills. A bar of soap is used to the end and there is nothing left to toss out with the trash.
At Grampy’s Soap Business, we only make bars. It goes to our motto of “Keep It Simple, Stupid.” To make homemade liquid soap, you need another complete process to make it. While they use some of the same ingredients, there are additional ones as well.
I think that it comes down to personal preference. I will continue to use a bar of soap as that is how I was brought up. And I will use a homemade, all natural, vegan friendly bar of soap I know – I know what the ingredients are.
